Environmental protection and sustainability at dialog EDV

Our contribution to a livable future

At dialog EDV, we take responsibility for our environment and our society. We are actively committed to protecting natural resources and using energy and materials sustainably.

We are aware that our company also contributes to climate change—and that is precisely why we are taking action. Our goal is to continuously reduce our carbon footprint. Complete climate neutrality is very difficult to achieve, but we are getting closer to it step by step.

We are aware of our sources of emissions and are developing targeted measures to reduce our CO₂ emissions. In doing so, we focus on raising awareness within the team and on making concrete changes in our everyday work – wherever possible and sensible.

We reject greenwashing.

Instead of investing in questionable compensation models, we support local environmental projects where our commitment has a visible and measurable impact. We consciously use part of our company profits for this purpose.

Our climate awareness flows into all areas of our activities—from the operation of our company and the development of our software to the use of our solutions by our customers.

For us, sustainability is not a trend, but an attitude.

Acting in a climate-conscious manner

In our company, everyone contributes to sustainability and the reduction of our greenhouse gas emissions. This goal is promoted on a daily basis, with the aim of ensuring that everyone can live, eat, and work in a healthy, good, and climate-conscious manner. If you want to change something, you have to consider both the small steps and the global picture with regard to our environment and sustainability.

By participating in Fridays for Future demonstrations, our employees demonstrate political engagement on a personal level. In addition, we have signed the EntrepreneursForFuture statement to send a signal that we as a company support the Paris Climate Agreement and its demands.

Our commitment

Many of our plans for climate-conscious corporate management have already been implemented, but there are still many more improvements to be made.

Our goal is to efficiently reduce direct and indirect carbon emissions and avoid them as much as possible.

That is why we rely on renewable energies and use 100% green electricity from Green Planet Energy, which is generated by wind, water, and photovoltaics.

We offer our team home office options and job tickets for public transportation. Through our in-house health promotion program, we encourage cycling. In addition, our JobRad offer motivates our employees to avoid driving and to engage in physical activity on their way to work and in their free time. We have converted all our company vehicles to electric cars. When selecting lunch delivery services, we pay attention to both the sustainability of the packaging and the availability of vegetarian and vegan options.

Further improvement measures are currently being planned and prepared at the site. An energy consultation was conducted to determine the building's savings potential in order to reduce electricity and heating costs in the future through insulation and renovation work, as well as to efficiently reduce overall consumption. In 2022, the roof of the company building was renovated, including extensive roof insulation. As part of this renovation, a photovoltaic system was installed, which now allows us to generate 50% of the electricity we consume ourselves. Among other things, the self-generated electricity is used to power the two charging stations for electric cars at our site.

We are staying on track - with clear goals, concrete measures, and the conviction that sustainable action today is the foundation for a livable future. We do not see sustainability as a completed task, but as an ongoing process that we shape with responsibility, transparency, and creativity.

Ready for CSRD: Our contribution to a sustainable supply chain

Under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), many companies are faced with the challenge of transparently recording and reporting sustainability data across their entire supply chain. As a responsible SME, we want to actively support our customers in this endeavor - which is why we have decided to create a VSME report (Voluntary Sustainability Market Engagement Report).

This voluntary sustainability report enables us to provide relevant environmental and social data in a structured format that our customers can use for their own CSRD-compliant reports. In doing so, we are not only contributing to transparency in the supply chain, but also strengthening our partnerships.

What our VSME report will offer:

  • Reliable information about our carbon footprint and our reduction measures
  • Insight into our social and ethical standards
  • Presentation of our environmental strategy and concrete progress
  • Support in complying with our customers' legal reporting obligations

We see sustainability as a shared responsibility. By disclosing our data and continuously working on improvements, we build trust and show that we are prepared to take responsibility - for our environment, our team, and our business partners.

dialog EDV is ready for the future - and for the requirements of the CSRD.
